I do not know the history of this machine except from the owner's report.  The computer has been trouble free - at least for hardware - since new until yesterday when the owner returned home to discover the screen was totally blank (black).  Light and fan noise indicated computer was on, but there was no display.  No keyboard or touchpad action would change the display.

I have tried the following:  1.  Forced power off, removed battery, repowered, booted - no change.  2.  Connected external video port to known good display.  Used Fn + F5 to cycle from internal to external display.  No change.  External monitor senses no signal.  3.  Removed bezel and screen, disconnected and reconnected connector, reassembled.  No change.

Two questions: 1.  Is there another troubleshooting routine I should execute?  2.  Do I have enough evidence to declare the onboard video circuit dead (and too costly to send out for repair)?

Many thanks for assistance.

1. I think you covered all your bases.

2. I would agree.
