I just got a notification from both Windows Defender and Bitdefender that some malware has been found on my 'puter. But I disabled WD when I installed BD. Evidently, Microsoft corporation, in its infinite wisdom, has taken it upon itself to go ahead and reactivate WD without my knowledge or consent. Will WD interfere with BD if I'm running them at the same time? If so, how can I disable WD permanently?

TIA for any help you can give.
