Hi everyone. I am glad to join this community.

I have the same problem as Nanaki. When I scan my Windows 10 machine with Spybot 2.4 it hangs while working on Zlob.zipcodec

I started following the steps provided to Nanaki on this forum. (Uninstall Spybot S&D; Install FRST and scan.) But then I didn't know what to do after the FRST scan. I have attached my log files just as Nanaki did.

Thanks for any advice!

As you are probably aware I helped the Nanaki in the post you found.
The issue is that some remnant items in the registry is causing Spybot to crash.

My research at the time led me to run the E-set online scan.
Please do likewise. When the Scan is completed restart the computer normally. Run Spybot and find out if it completes.
If not what the other person did was to run E-set again and that solved the issue.

Run an online scan with Eset (easiest with Internet Explorer): http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
To shorten the scanning time disable your antivirus program while scanning.

Select Enable detection of potentially unwanted applications.
Click Advanced Settings.

Deselect Remove found threats.

Select:
Scan Archives
Scan for potentially unsafe applications
Enable Anti-Stealth Technology

Click Start.

When the scan is finished, click on List of found threats and then Export to text file. Copy the content of the text file and paste its content in your reply.

Keep me posted.

Thank you nasdaq!

I followed your instructions and Spybot S&D runs successfully to completion now.

Below is the report from ESET. Since I deselected "remove threats" I guess they are still there. Should I remove them?

Also I notice that Windows Defender virus protection will not turn on as long as I have Spybot installed, even though I am running the free version of spybot that does not provide virus protection. This seems like a significant problem. Probably that is a separate ticket but I thought I'd mention it in case you have advice

Thanks a lot for your help!!

You do not need them.
