Hi guys, just joined to ask for help with my PC. Ok first of all my system

I5 4690k (turbo mode) 3.9 ghz on stock air cooler.
R9 290 tri x sapphire gpu stock OC
8 gig ram 1600
750 corsair power supply
Windows 10 previously on 8.1
Previous oculus dk2 vr user
Driver 15.1
3 fans in case.

My problem started during summer 2015 (on Windows 8.1) around the time assetto corsa 1.3 patch came out as it would just crash after about 5-10 mins or on second lap usually. During this time I only played in VIrtual reality games of which were only driving sims. I put it down to a problem with assetto corsa and moved on to play iracing with absolutely no crashes at all.

Since then I installed Windows 10 and sold my vr headset. I then started to play games such as among the sleep ( a fairly low graphic game) I recently played the division beta which is a top end graphics game and it would crash within the 5-10 mins. My PC generally crashes to a blue screen but it has crashed to a red screen with a loud noise over the hi fi or headphones.

Whilst playing on the division beta I thought I would try and see if the crashes were due to what my graphic settings are. I lowered them to the lowest setting and my PC ran fine with no crashes. After an hour of stable gaming I upped the graphics to high and again my PC crashed to a red screen within 10 mins or so.

I would like to say my PC runs flawlessly when not playing games or even low demanding games. My guess is it is the gpu or maybe my CPU. Sorry for the wall of text but if anybody has any ideas or advice that would be great. Thanks in advance. :-)

Please run these free hardware diagnostics:    http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Beyond that, let's try looking at these reports:

1)  Please run this report collecting tool (even though you may not be reporting BSOD's) so we can provide a complete analysis:  http://omgdebugging.com/bsod-inspector/
When done a Notepad document will open with the name of the file and it's location.
By default it'll be a .zip file located on your Desktop
Simply upload the .zip file with your next post and we'll move on from there.

2)  Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on the "Administrative Events" heading
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

FYI - If we're looking for Event ID 41 errors (unexplained shutdowns), there's more info on that here:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Please upload the other report (the one listed as 1) )

The Admin log shows a number of BSOD's which may be associated with networking.

Beyond that, we need the other reports to help narrow it down.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 0323) dates from 2014.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.

Only 6 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most build 10586 (TH2/1511) systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates.

E: drive only has about 0.7% free space.  Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance.  Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner (along with EVGA Precision) is known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys).  Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting.  Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

The memory dumps show hal.dll as being involved in the crash.  This is usually a sign of a hardware failure, compatibility issue, or a low-level driver problem.

Please run Driver Verifier in the hope that it will show us something else:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

While waiting for a reply, please start these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html
