Hi. I'm having a major problem with a virus right now. Daemon helped me yesterday in removing the YOMFU and IFVBUL infections I had.

Link to that post and solution:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...view=getnewpost

But something is still present on my system - and it's taking over everything. It's listed as "Command Center, Regeistry: ControlSet00/CMD Service" in AVG virus scan.

So far, the virus has managed to take control of taskmanager (locked me out of ctrl-alt-delete), removed all desktop items and won't allow me to right-clock on desktop), and forces internet explorer open and closed randomly, plus forcing me to pages while I'm on legitimate ones.... (I'll see if I can finish this post before it closes IE again....)

Here is my HIJACKTHIS Log. I have run SpyBot, Ad-Aware and AVG and none of them seem to get rid of it.

Additional info on the above:

I just discovered that IE is now popping up as "NIEXPLORE.EXE" in task manager. (Yes, I got control of my taskmanager again after running Spybot on boot up.)All other problems are still present though. In the IE folder in Program Files, "IEXPLORE.EXE" no longer exists. In its place is "NIEXPLORE.EXE" and "iExplore.exe".

Also, AVG lists "WINWORD.EXE" as a process, but I'm not using it, and it's not open anywhere on the computer - nor does it show in TaskManager.

Also, AVG is now detecting a virus:

2.dlb Trojan horse Downloader.Generic2.HNT
5.dlb Trojan horse Downloader.Generic2.GTO
6.dlb Trojan horse Downloader.Generic2.HOC
7.dlb Trojan horse Downloader.Generic2.HME

Hopefully that helps you understand my problem better.....

Thanks!

Hi,

I've slowly been routing out all the spyware/malware from a recent major infection. I thought everything was gone, but I'm still getting lots of forced pop-ups. Also, I am now locked out of my desktop. Tray icons, Start button, taskbar all work fine. But my actual desktop space is locked - when I try to right click on it, it gives me a cross - as thought I'm locked out. This may have been caused by previous fixes from other viruses - perhaps something was damaged. Not sure. But the forced pop-ups tell there's still something on the computer.

This is my HJT log:

Thanks for any help.

Probably something is hiding.

Please run these:

1. Please download RootKitRevealer from here:
http://www.sysinternals.com/files/rootkitrevealer.zip
Unzip it to the desktop, run it, and click Scan. This will generate a log file; please post the entire contents of the log file here for me to see.

2. Please run a GMER Rootkit scan:

Download GMER's application from here:
http://www.gmer.net/gmer.zip

Unzip it and start the GMER.exe
Click the Rootkit tab and click the Scan button.

Once done, click the Copy button.
This will copy the results to your clipboard.
Paste the results in your next reply.

Warning ! Please, do not select the "Show all" checkbox during the scan.

If you're having problems with running GMER.exe, try it in safe mode.
This tools works in safe mode. Other rootkitrevealers don't.

3. Start HijackThis, perform a new scan and save the log file.

Use the Add Reply button to post your new logs back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps and I will review it when it comes in.
