I've helped a friend set up Windows 10 as an upgrade from Windows 7.  The upgrade went well and all is working except one thing.  Whenever I start the computer after the lock screen (do have a Microsoft Administrative Account)  I get to the password screen and it is full of ++++++++++++++++++++++++

signs.  I have to enter and be told the password is incorrect and when the screen opens again I can sign in using the password and I am able to get into Windows Desktop.  Everything else works find.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening.  I would sure appreciate any and all help.

Thanks in advance

Assuming you don't have a sticking + key, I'd try scanning for corrupt files with SFC.  Open an administrator command prompt and issue this command: sfc /scannow.

 Good luck.

Make regular full system backups or you'll be sorry sooner or later.
