I need to get a new laptop.  Budget is from 800 to 1200 dollars.

I will be using it primarily to follow stocks which means running streaming charts in real time.  That takes a considerable bandwidth and I would like to be able to set the charts data as priority.

Battery life is very important as I use it a lot in wifi spots.

I would like 1 tb hard drive, dvdrw and 12gb to 16gb ram.  I'm on my second Dell but have been disappointed with quality. as my first one had issues with sticking keys and the second one had a terrible touch pad to the point I returned it.

Laptop or Desktop?  Laptop

My budget for the new computer is: 800 to 1200

What are the primary uses for this computer (IE: mail, web browsing, programming, games, etc)?

Following the stock market with streaming charts, video and photo editing.

What software do you intend on using on the computer?

Windows 10, Photo and video editing, Microsoft Office.

Do you play games? If so, what type of games?

Not much into games.

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done

using it?

I usually  have 4 to 6 programs running at a time including charts and firefox

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer?

Pictures and video

Will you be overclocking?  Probably not.

Location for online shopping/shipment/prices?

Northern Callifornia.

How many monitors are you planning to use?

Just the laptop monitor.

Do you need peripherals? OS?

Needs a DVD read/write drive and running Win 10

Any particular reason why you are upgrading?

Current laptop is 5 years old and keys are sticking and hinge is breaking.
