ZoneLabs sells a product called Anonymous Surfing offered by a third party vendor. Apparently this product really protects one's privacy in part because one's computer identity is altered and hidden. It is described here: http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/prom...mizer/index.jsp

Is this legitimate, a good product, some kind of scam, or a truly unnecessary product?

Orange Blossom who is Paranoid and sometimes cynical  maybe because I spent so many years on public computers. :flowers:

Orange Blossom,

It is a legitimate product. How good is it? I do not know as I do not use the product. I have been told and read that there is a slightly better product called GhostSurf by tenebril. The basis of what these products can do can also be done for free. They are basically routing your web browsing through proxy servers. The difference is pubic servers for free, or private servers for a price. GhostSurf has a 45 day try before you buy offer which can be found at this link: http://www.tenebril.com/downloads/ This post in no way is an endorsement or solicitation for either product. This is informational only.
