Hi, I think my pc has been infected by Telsacrypt 3.0. I have files with the .micro extension and the reg keys described in the Telsacrypt 3.0 article on bleeping computer are present. I have a script which is trying to run volume shadow copy deletion with /silent /delete switches. Description of how to pay is in a text file and HTML file. I have shut my machine down and not attempted to clean the virus yet. No volume shadow copy protection on data disk. Is there anything I can do to recover encrypted files without paying the ransom?

Currently there is no solution to decrypt your files without paying. It is being worked on though, so we recommend backing up the encrypted files and hoping for the future.

Someone here can assist you with cleaning the infection though.

If you need individual assistance only with removing the malware infection, follow the instructions in the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide...all other questions or comments should be posted in the support topics. When you have done that, start a new topic and post your logs in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team.

For anything else...there is an ongoing discussion in this topic where you can ask questions and seek further assistance.Rather than have everyone start individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any questions, comments or requests for assistance in one of those topic discussions, particularly the last if dealing with one of the newer variants. Doing that will also ensure you receive proper assistance from our crypto malware experts since they may not see this thread. To avoid unnecessary confusion...this topic is closed.

Thanks
