First of all I would like to start off saying that I ran a bunch of different programs to help generall cleanup my PC to help with the performance side of things. This computer only has 1.5 gig's of memory so I don't expect much anyways. But things have changed. Changed in a way where it is even slower than before I did of what was suggested to help my computer by another member here. When I try to load programs now they just seem slower. Also I am having trouble wth windows XP shutting down sometimes, or just in general when loading a program it will freeze and i will have to restart the program and it will work. Yes I understand it could be a RAM issue, not having enough, but what about windows XP not shutting down right? When I click on "shut down computer" it will show that "windows is shutting down" and it will just freeze on that page and never shut down. I will have to hardboot it before it shuts down because I dont' even know if it will or if its froze. I have waited for up to 10 or more minutes and then I giveup and just hardboot it down.

My main question would have to be. Is there any programs or something that you can help me check to see if there are errors or what it might to find out what is going on?

Thanks again for any replies on help!

Could you post a link to post where this other member made these suggestions?  It will help to see the "bunch of different programs" which he/she recommended you run.

Nevermind I was thinking of a different topic about my Windows 7 computer. (With help suggestions on Windows 7, not XP). I am confused because I have so many computer and so many topics opened up and that I am currently watching right now.

But on to the next step. Does anybody recommend what I should do?

On the shutdown issue only, I have an old XP SP3 system and I have always used the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service, to shut down quickly:         https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=6676         May help.

My system is an Intel Pentium 4, 2.8ghz and has 2.5 GB RAM and an 80GB HDD, but it always ran OK on 512MB RAM, with the usual complement of programs, including a full Office installation.

Maybe the RAM is faulty. Presumably your AntiVirus program is in place and have you checked for malware recently. Malwarebytes does a reasonable job.

Before I download that program that you suggested to "Help Shutdown", what all does the program do once downloaded and ran? If you don't mind me asking that is.

Also, Yeah you might be right, it might not be my ram. I don't know what it could be. My system specs aren't really that bad. I will give a more detailed description if needed. It is kind of close to your specs. AMD 2.7 ghz CPU 1.5 ghz ram, 120 GB harddrive. Nvidea GeForce 7900GS graphics card. It is quite outdated for my now-a-day uses, but it still "works" so I still use it sometimes and mess around with it.

As far as malware and antivirus I am clean, I have Malwarebytes free edition, AVG free edition, Malwarebytes anti-exploit for online use. I should be clean as a whistle.

Just to answer your question, from that link (and bear in mind it's from MS)

'The User Profile Hive Cleanup service helps to ensure user sessions are completely terminated when a user logs off. System processes and applications occasionally maintain connections to registry keys in the user profile after a user logs off. In those cases the user session is prevented from completely ending. This can result in problems when using Roaming User Profiles in a server environment or when using locked profiles as implemented through the Shared Computer Toolkit for Windows XP.'

Just something that's always worked for me; once installed, it's always running.

Here is the Speccy Snapshot that you requested, Louis. Thank you for the support. Although as I posted in another topic where you asked me to do this. My computer is only showing that I have 1.5 gb's of RAM in the System View setting on Windows XP and I think it is correct but I don't think Speccy's reading of the RAM is correct, because I remember having 1.5 gb's of RAM. Other than the RAM, I think all other system hardware components look correct too my knowledge.

Ok I just installed the program. Is that all I have to do is install? It just said, "successfully installed".. I guess I am good 2 go?

Thanks for the support buddy.

Yes, that's it.  It runs as an automatic service (you can check in services) and you can uninstall it through add/remove.
