Windows 10 is not really meant for the old laptop I'm using. It doesn't support some import legacy drivers that I need. First my graphics driver is not fully compatible so I can't use openGL 2.0, actually this is Intel's fault. Second my dvd drive is not supported! Kinda tired of searching around for answers online to all the problems.

Also not liking the mandatory bloatware that comes with Windows 10. Seriously there are default apps I can't uninstall?! At least you can get rid of programs when you buy a pre-built computer by HP or whatever.

Don't feel like going back to Windows 7, which I had prior and worked great with this old rig. I don't like the harassing upgrade to Winblows 10 popups for one.

Please recommend a simple, easy, fast, compatible distro for this computer :

Gateway laptop

Model : NV55C03u

Processor 2 GHz Pentium P6100

RAM 3 GB ddr3

Hard Drive 320 GB 5400 RPM

GPU : Integrated

Linux mint is great for beginners, with a easy to use installer, a familiar windows XP like interface with pre loaded codecs to get you started.
