Hello bleeping forums, today I need help with my little sisters computer. She called me saying that MBAM is blocking pop ups from numerous links that look horrible from the mywot scores, these links are reporo dot net, tradeadexchange dot com and liveadexchanger dot com including many more that she couldn't remember. MBAM scans return clean, webroot and bitdefender scans are all good, and SAS returns clean all with updated definitions. I'm sort of wondering what to do now...

I guess that you have access to her laptop. In that case, let's start by getting a MiniToolBox log.

  • Download MiniToolBox and move the file to your Desktop;
  • Right-click on MiniToolBox.exe and select Spcusrh.pngRun as Administrator (for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 users);
  • Check the following options:
    • Flush DNS;
    • Report IE Proxy Settings;
    • Reset IE Proxy Settings;
    • Report FF Proxy Settings;
    • Reset FF Proxy Settings;
    • List content of Hosts;
    • List IP Configuration;
    • List Winsock Entries;
    • List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors;
    • List Installed Programs;
    • List Devices - Only Problems;
    • List Users, Partitions and Memory size;

  • Once this is done, click on Go and wait for the scan to complete;
  • Once the scan is complete, a log will open. Please copy/paste the content of the output log in your next reply;

Can I ask you why you are providing malware removal assistance on BleepingComputer, if you need help yourself to remove malware on a computer? If you cannot clean a system by yourself, what makes you think that you clean another's user system instead?

Well that's good to know. Hopefully, you'll still keep in mind my question for the future, in case something like that happens again.
