Can you explain what you mean by start up icons? Are these the icons on your desktop, in the lower right-hand corner of your task bar, or the icons on the other icons of your task bar? Can you also tell me what anti-virus you're using?

I think if nothing works to run the start button, then you should reinstall your windows. This is the mother of all solution. You can reinstall windows with keeping all the previous files safe, too.

Thanks to everyone who responded and tried to help me. Aidan A My windows start button wouldn't allow me to click on it and none of my start ups were on the right bottom.or open everything. I had to research online how to get around it but did figure it out. I followed the PowerShell directions and the DISM one in the first response to my query and then restarted my computer again and I have had no problems since then. Again thanks everyone!
