My name is Karen or KarenR (since I'm told there is another Karen!)

I hope I can offer help as well as find some. I am learning graphics programs via the freeware route - trying and trying and giving up and trying again! Sometimes there is head exploding frustration and sometimes pure elation when learning.

I will contribute my experiences where appropriate - and being in the company of other frustrated and sometimes elated souls will be a relief to me right now!

Thanks!

You efforts might be frustrating, but I am willing to wager that you have learned much through trial and error that you will not readily find in manuals.
I look forward to reading your posts.
Welcome to BC!

John

Thanks JGWeed! I am so glad I came here today!

In reply to my question in Graphics -tg1911 prompted me to look at the GIMP - but I recall it looking so scary quite a while back. But at the end of my quest today I decided to look into it - Hey what the heck - WELL, WHAT A DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE!!! It is GORGEOUS!!! (for Windows anyhow!) Big changes and improvement from what I remember. It does not look scary anymore!

I'm just reading thru the learning manual basics. And so far looks non-threatening!

So here's one for the GIMPER!

Drinks on me for tg1911 (and for when the honeymoon is over!!!)

Thanks again,
KarenR

GIMP is a very good application. I am sure you will have a lot of fun (and sometimes not so much fun) exploring it and learning all its functionality.
Cheers,
John

Thank you, KarenR for mentioning BC kindly in another forum. Our strong growth in membership has been caused by word of mouth from one user to another about both the content of the site as well as the friendliness of the members.
Cheers,
