I built my dad a new computer recently (within the past two weeks) and he's already borked it up. I tell him time and time again to be a better user with a computer but it just goes in one ear and out the other. He likes to install useless and/or potentially harmful programs on his computer like "Driver Booster" and the works... :/

Anyway, enough ranting, the problem is SafeSearch on Chrome.

There is no uninstall listed in either the Windows built in uninstall program or from IObit's Uninstaller.

I've removed ALL registry keys that include the word "safesear".

I've ran AdwCleaner, JRT, MBAM, MBAR and HitManPro.

I cannot change any search engine settings in Chrome because Chrome tells me that SafeSearch has been enforced by the admin. (Still have this issue even when running Chrome as admin).

I've completely removed the "Default" folder under the "AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data"

I've removed the "Google" folder under "AppData\Local"

I've reset Google Chrome.

I've removed Chrome and reinstalled it.

This is a Windows 10 64 bit computer.

Any suggestions?

Hi -

Singular Labs have a special Uninstaller for iObit. First uninstall from Programs > Now do this..

Go to the link > Security Software > Down the list till you find it (and it works)

Good Luck -

EDIT - Safe Search should be removed by AdwCleaner or Updated Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Hello -

Since you have not posted back in about 3 weeks, I assume the problems are solved, or you are getting help elsewhere.

Please start a new topic if you still need help, and we will always be willing to try and help you...
