I have an old Windows Vista laptop with 2 gig of memory. I have a full version of W7, and I am going to upgrade it to W7 with a view to upgrading again to W10.

My question is, are the specifications of this Vista machine able to cope with the upgrade?

Sony Vaio laptop.

core 2, 1.6 mhz.

Windows Vista 32 bit.

2 gig of Ram.

500 gig hard drive.

Windows 7 will be done from a clean install.

Thank you in advance for any advice!

Open an elevated command prompt window, type the following command, and hit Enter:

schtasks.exe /Run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser"

Thanks Condobloke!  By the way, I don't expect a drunk or a person who is trying to commit suicide to like Windows 10, or life? Personally I love Windows 10!
