Hi guys. My problem is whenever I open Google Chrome, it opens up onto hxxttp://orion.zerohorizon.net, which is a site that promotes Windows 10 and then I also get hxxttp://promote.buy-targeted-traffic.com as well in another tab automatically. When I close them, after 5-10 minutes, it will open up by itself whether or not I'm using the browser. Thank you.

You need to remove Chrome completely and reinstall the Browser.
I hope this helps as I was unable to find a solution to that issue on the net.

Backup Chrome Bookmarks
How to Export Bookmarks from Chrome: 8 Steps (with Pictures)

NEXT - Open Chrome

Open your Google Dashboard. https://www.google.com/settings/dashboard
Make sure you are signed in to your Google Account.
Click Stop and Clear to stop syncing and clear all of your synced data.
Click OK.

NEXT – Uninstall Chrome completely

Now delete the profile folder as well:

(type %appdata% into the search box to open the folder)

C:\Users\“User Name”\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default << right click and delete all the contents of this folder

Note: “AppData” is a hidden folder, so you will need to show hidden files and folders.

Now re-install Chrome and let me know how it goes.

I found one topic were this scan clean the problem.
Try it.

Emsisoft Emergency Kit Scan

--------------------
  • Download Emsisoft Emergency Kit and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the EmsisoftEmergencyKit.exe icon, click Run then Extract
  • Double click the Start Emsisoft Emergency Kit icon that will appear after extraction
  • Click Yes to update the program
  • Once the update is completed click the Back button
  • Click on 2. Scan (not Quick Scan or Smart Scan)
  • Click Smart Scan (recommended)
  • Patiently wait for the thorough scan to complete, this can be a lengthy process
  • Once completed click Quarantine selected objects (if computer is clean you will not have this option) then click OK
  • Click View Report
  • Copy and paste the contents of the report in your reply
  • Note: If you receive an error report saying there are too many emoticons simply attach the file instead
  • Close the program then click Close
If the problem persists lets see what we can find.

Please run the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool. Enter zerohorizon in the Search Box.
Click the Search Registry button, post the content of the Search.txt file in your next reply.

Post the log and let me know if the problem persists.
