Windows 7 emachines laptop. When I press button the power light comes on and then nothing but a black screen, occasionally it has booted up once or twice over the past three months it's been broken for, but nothing, I can't get it to go into anything by pressing f8 or f12 or anything. I was going to do a factory reset to see if that works but can't get into repair or anything.

If anyone can help would be so grateful, I'm now down two laptops and have none working thank you for reading

Can you connect an external monitor to see if the same issue persist?

Thanks

I can't find a key-stroke to boot to external screen but I know some other companies have them. Might try contacting eMachines or some other forums. Sounds like it can't find the boot file, w/could be fixed if you could see some output. Taking a guess it's a software issue. That first thought could prove it.
