I have a LaserJet 4250 that is leaving random blurred or shadowed horizontal  lines of text on the prints but not on every page and not in the same place on the page.

So far I have:

replaced the toner cartridge and  maintenance kit rollers etc.

The problem persists.

Anyone have any suggestions or seen this before? The printer is a workhorse but is getting a bit aged.

This almost sounds like a fuser problem.  Try turning the fuser temp up a bit.  Not really sure how to do it on that model, just google it!  By maintenance kit I am assuming that you replaced the fuser as well?  Is it fully locked into place?

Yes I did replace the fuser and have also turned the fuser temperature up to high - no change. I did reseat the fuser a couple days ago with no improvement.

There are a couple of filters that could get a little extra toner in the corona wire area.  The wire itself could be dirty and the serated edge is critical not to be bent.
