Hi guys,

as the title says a program I use on my PC doesn't work anymore, apparently for no reason.

It's a portable program I use to edit Vob files.

Is there some way I can get it to work again?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Please post the name of this program.

Have you tried uninstalling it and then reinstall it?

Its name is VobBlanker, it is portable so there is no uninstaller. I already tried to overwrite all the files in its folder with new ones, no luck.

Already tried to run it in compatibility mode too, nothing.

It seems it has become incompatible all of a sudden.

Open the Windows Explorer, right click on VobBlanker, select Delete.

Open the Recycle bin and empty VobBlanker.

Download and install the program.

I deleted the program folder, emptied the recycle bin, extracted all the files from the program zip archive and put them back in place.

Doesn't work.

Tried to run the program from another HDD, doesn't work.

Tried to run it from a USB stick, doesn't work.

I get the program icon on the taskbar but I can't maximize it. Besides, when I hover with the cursor over the program icon I get a blank preview.

It's a portable application, it comes in a zip archive. No installer.

Delete the zip archive, and then download VobBlanker.

Obviously the archive is corrupted, you need to download a fresh copy.

Do you have any experience editing the registry?

Download Revo Uninstaller and install it.

A page should open with all of your installed programs.  See if you can find the VobBlanker and uninstall it.

Edit:  You need to be aware that if mistakes are made in the process of editing the registry you can render your computer into a very expensive door stop.  Do not make any changes without instructions.

In the Startup Menu type regedit in the Search box.

Regedit will appear in the results above the search box, right click on it and select Run as administrator.

When the registry opens click on Edit, then click on Find.

A box will open titled Find.  Type in vobblanker in the box, then click on Find next.

This will probably take a while.

If it produces any information take a screen shot of it and post it in your topic.

How to make a screenshot

1. Download and run A Thousand Words .

2. Follow the wizard to capture a screenshot

3. Use the built-in editor to resize, edit, or re-capture your screen shot.

4. Your screen shot will be saved to your desktop when you finish the wizard.

You can post the screenshot in your next post as an attachment.

Just below the area where you write text in a post there is the Post button, to the right of this is More Reply Options

Post2_zpsf05c0430.png

When you click on More Relpy Options  you will see Attach Files and Browse, click on Browse, this will open Pictures on your computer, click on the image you want to post, then click on Attach This File, then Add Reply.

It's a very old program and may simply not be compatible with Windows 7. If it used to work, new Windows updates may have rendered it incompatible.
