Hi, I have recently bought an old Dell laptop running Vista.

Everything works fine on it other than I can't get the TOR Browser Installer to run at all. When I click the exe nothing happens at all.

I've found and tried a slightly older version of TOR see if that would work, then could update once it's running. Same problem.

Tried turning off the Windows Firewall. Nothing. I haven't intalled any virus software yet (I'm about to install malwarebytes), so it's not that either.

On TOR's official download page it says the version is compatible all the way down to XP? I've Googled around for ideas but nothing useful. Would appreciate any thoughts you guys had.

Thanks

Stu

The following Fix-it from Microsoft might be worth a shot:

Thanks for the reply Phantom. Didn't work though unfortunately. I'm still trying to figure it out, driving me mad  :smash:

Are you having trouble running other applications on your computer?

I installed MalwareBytes straight after Acrobat wouldn't install and that worked no problem. I've installed FireFox since getting the laptop and also MS Office. It just wont do TOR or Acrobat? Really weird.

Thanx

*Update - Skype installs fine too. Just TOR and Acrobat won't.
