Hello everyone! I've got an issue with my Surface Pro that really has me perplexed. This isn't the first forum I've went to for help, hopefully you guys and gals can help me.

First things first:

Make and model of computer: Microsoft Surface Pro (1st Gen) Windows 8.1 64-bit

How the computer is connected (wireless or wired): Wifi

Make and model of Router: Arris TG862G/CT

Approximate Distance From the router the PC is if its a wireless connection: 15-20ft

What type of internet you have (Dsl, Cable, T-1,etc..) Cable (Xfinity) 25mbps

Here is the issue: The internet is HORRIBLY slow on my Surface. It will maybe give 2-9mbps on a speedtest, but then stop responding for 5-6 minutes, and slow down to less than 1mbps. It does this constantly. It's weird, it will work for a couple seconds and then almost stop altogether. Sometimes it actually does stop working completely. It is almost like it is being throttled every few seconds. I have several computers in the house and other wireless devices, but my surface pro is the only one that has the issue.

One would assume, based on that, that my Surface is the problem. But here's the kicker, my Surface works with every other wifi I connect it to just fine, the only connection it doesn't get along with is my home Comcast/Xfinity connection, but all the other computers work with it fine. I've included a video of the problem so you can see what it does.

Also, I have already done a complete wipe and windows reinstallation on my Surface to rule out any software issues.

the kids sound so happy in the background :-)

It would appear to me to be one of two issues; wifi driver or system incompatibility.

To address the first go online and see if there is a updated driver for the wifi card. Systems manufacturer [Microsoft] is a good place to start looking and the next would be the components manufactures web site.

Next I would look at what wifi channels. Download xirrus wifi inspector from their web site and post a screen shot of what it sees. I believe it will run on tablet but not sure. There are also others like SSIDER.

You would also want to know which wireless standard each wireless interface is using [a,b,g,n,..]. Perhaps if you set the tablet to just one standard it would interface with your router better. You may want to move closer to the wifi router to eliminate building material dampening being the problem with wifi between the two.

I've attached the screenshot of the xirrus wifi inspector. Let me know if that is what  you need or not. I updated the drivers but it didn't help at all.

I don't know anything about the wireless interface, can you expand on that for me?

I found the wifi settings on my router and included a screenshot, hope it is helpful.

You got a ton of bluetooth errors. I would disable that if you're not using it. Could be causing the problems.
