I like to use a sysinternal tool called crowdinspect and I am getting an error stating that the process cannot connect to the virus total server so that virus total can be used within the tool . does anyone know what may be causing this or has anyone used crowdinspect before.

Crowdinspect is not a Sysinternals tool.

I'd suggest that you post over in the General Security forums:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/45/general-security/

You're more likely to find someone who's familiar with it there.

Crowd Inspect comes from Crowdstrike. It pretty good. However Virus Total Server is a totally different program.

You are running in conflict.

You could replace that program with Process Explorer from Sysinternals. It also uses VirusTotal.
