The other day I went to use my back-up laptop, (HP/ windows 7 ) it was already on and was in hibernation mode. As usual, I tapped the power button to wake it up and walked away. when I came back a few minutes later it had a screen saying something like "there was an error and the computer had to shut down" now it wont start back up at all. the power comes on but nothing else. nothing on the screen. Oh I almost forgot, I no longer have access to the administrator account on that computer because for the life of me I can't remember what the password is. Is this computer basically a pile of junk now?

nevermind... I'm  a dolt :)    I guess you first check and see if the external monitor cord is tightened all the way.

But I still can't remember the password... Is there a work around for a lost password?
