Hi all,

I recently moved house and after setting up my PC again I suddenly can't load up any game without it crashing on the splash/logo screen (EG the Bethesda logo for Fallout).

The only changes I'd made before moving was installing a Wacom Intuos tabletlb_icon1.png with ArtRage and Sketchbook. I've read somewhere that some of the Wacom drivers can cause issues and to end the processes when starting up a game but it didn't work for me, I've also tried completely uninstalling my tablet but still no luck.

I'm running an AMD R9 290 and the graphics drivers are up to date. I'm running Windows 7lb_icon1.png.

I've tried launching games in compatibility mode and as administrator with no consistent results. I'd say there's a 1 in 10 chance the game will run and once it runs, it runs as fine as it ever did before.

Other things I've noticed:

  • GTA still launches fine (the only game I have that's not launched through Steam, GoG or Origin)
  • RealTek HD Audio Manager also crashes when I plug in my headphones now
  • I've had one BSOD pop up (http://imgur.com/n2AZBH0)
  • I've tried to do a system restore but it's never able to complete

If there's any other info you need then let me know, I'd really appreciate the help as I'm completely lost. I've had this PC for a couple of years and it's always worked fine, I don't understand what's causing this all of a sudden.

I hope someone can shed some light! Thanks,

Whats your computer specs.

Also if your computer is old you might wanna remove some junk. Clean your registry. Also check if your drivers are up to date.

Registry cleaning is not advised.

Why you should not use Registry Cleaners and Optimization Tools

Your post has several green hyperlinks... are you infected with adware?

I would try reinstalling both Steam and Origin, then check the contents of the game files (Verify Game Cache under Steam, no idea if Origin has something like that as I don't have it).
