For about two weeks my laptop has unexpectedly shut down (without BSOD) when I try to do things like watch videos. I suspect that it's a heating issue, but I'm not sure how to resolve it. So far I’ve tried cleaning dust from the fan and removed the old battery, so I’ve been using it as a desktop. This helped a bit, but hasn't solved the problem.

I’ve had my laptop since April 2012, here are the specs:

Toshiba Qosmio F60

Windows 7 Home Pentium 64-bit

Intel Core i5 CPU M480 @ 2.67 GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7 GHz

8 GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

Toshiba MK7559GSXP hard drive

I ran HWMonitor while watching videos for about an hour. The attached log is maybe a couple minutes before my laptop crashed again.

Holy smokes!  128ºC for the video and 102ºC for the ACPI (?mobo?)!!!  Has the laptop melted through the table top yet?

If blowing the vents out hasn't helped, then it's time to take it to a shop for some expert help.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
