Hey guys, I installed the chipset first from here with service tag 43whln1 then the:

Broadcom 57XX Gigabit Integrated Controller, v.12.2.51, A00

but that doesn't work. Then I went to:

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/device.php?hwid=PCI\VEN_14E4%26DEV_1691%26SUBSYS_043E1028%26REV_01

Driver guide won't run the machine itself without a net connection, help please?

When i try to run the setup in the file the Windows Installer window is showing:

"This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor"

Try this Dell driver. It's not for the Vostro but is for the BCM57788 which your device ID is listed as. It's an earlier version.

Edit: Here is the link

That works, thanks. Mind telling me how you were able to get to that driver, for my future knowledge please? If a secret trade then absolutely no worries.

I inputted the Vendor and Device ID at Pcidatabase.com. That gave a chipset of BCM57788. I then did a google search for Dell BCM57788 and got the link.

It seems the Broadcom 57XX does not include the 57788.
