Hello,

Last night my PC turned off and now it won't boot up. When I power on the power outlet, the green(power) led on the PC lights up without even touching the PC. When I press the power button on the PC the fans spin up but no display.

I have a core i3

Bio-star motherboard

550w PSU

No GPU

4 GB ram

I tried switching the ram slot. Disconnecting HDD. Removed the small battery and put it back in. The symptoms are still the same.

Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Sounds like your motherboard died.

Same happened to my other computer, had to buy another computer,

instead of paying and replacing the mobo, which cost hundreds of dollars.

When they just plain turn on without your having pushed the power button, that's a bad thing and, about 70% of the time, it is the system board.

But; the other 30% of the time, its the power supply...

Unless you plan to add a high power video card, here's a great power supply for $19: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antec-Earthwatts-380W-power-supply-unit-EA-380-/221961820559?hash=item33adf4998f:g:H7EAAOSwNSxU6Dkn
