I'm was on my computer, and clicked a pop-up that said it was Microsoft. I ended up with a virus, and was unable to get on the internet. A friend said he did a re-install of Windows 7, without removing any of the data from my computer. Since then, my computer has been unbelievably slow and makes a funny double click sound when I boot up. I like to stream music, while working on the computer of just to have it playing in the background. Typically it will just freeze up and stop playing, which as of late is within 5-10 minutes. After I leave the site and return to start the music, it will lock-up again and usually the third time it will kick me off the net. In addition it takes forever for pages to load. I have been searching the net for answers to this problem and have found nothing. I am at my wits end with this, so if anyone can help I will greatly appreciate it.

Can you do a System Restore back to a point before the virus got on your system?

Also, I'd suggest posting over in the Am I Infected forum:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/
Please read the pinned topics at the top of the forum for instructions on how to post there.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

System restore is not possible, as this happened a while back, and I've just been limping by.  After 'navigating' my way around the site

( I'm obviously not very computer savvy ) I did post this in that forum.

Thanks sweetie

Not a problem.  If the system comes back clean (from the folks in the Am I Infected forum), please post back here and we'll try some other things.

Also, if not infected, you may want to try over in the Networking forums also - as they are the experts when it comes to streaming services, etc:    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/21/networking/
