After the five or six restarts does it stay on until you shut it down or does it restart again after a period of time?

When did this problem begin?

Do you hear any beeps when the restarts are occurring?

Assuming that it restarts after Windows begins - after the bios post -

What programs are in your startup menu?

You can see what is in the startup menu by downloading and using Startup Inspector - a small freeware ap.

Startup Inspector (manages startup menu – helps you identify aps in the startup menu so you can disable unnecessary programs from running in the background when they are not needed)

And

Startup Monitor (a small freeware ap available on the same page to notify you and require your permission for any program to add itself to your startup menu)

How did you check the ram?

Are you saying that in the middle of the bios post, before it says Windows is starting, that it restarts?

How did you check the Ram?

Did you run one of the Ram tests?

RAM tests

http://www.simmtester.com/page/products/doc/download.asp
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
http://www.memtest.org/
http://www.memtest86.com/

Do you see anything on the screen just before it restarts?

Do you have any other problems with the way the computer works once you get it to stay on?
