· OS - Windows 10

· x64 bit
· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7
· Came pre-installed on system
· Age of system (hardware): about 3 years
· Age of OS installation - Installed windows 10 about 3-4 months ago

· CPU - AMD FX™-4100 Quad-Core Processor
· Video Card - AMD Raedon HD 7700 Series
· MotherBoard -  Gigabyte Technology
· Power Supply - Novatech Power station 750W

· System Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
· Exact model number GA-78LMT-S2P

· Desktop

Every time I play a game on my PC sooner or later I get this weird screen freeze where I can alt + tab but can't click on anything and suddenly it takes me to a screen saying (your PC ran into a problem and we're just collecting some error info and then we will restart for you) and restarts to something like can't detect your harddisk drive or disk read error I can't remember exactly but I have to turn it off and wait until it starts working normally again. also sometimes when I'm not playing but just browsing with multiple tabs on I seldom get this BSOD

With some research I found out the problems were corrupt system files but I'm not a 100% sure. I tried sfc /scannow but got this error every time [Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios.]
I also used the DISM method on CMD Prompt (Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth) and this ended up in an error as well [Error: 0x800f0906
The source files could not be downloaded.Use the "source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see  ]http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077.]

I pretty much tried every method I could find online but the problem still exists.
I've got a laptop which is pretty smaller in space compared to this old PC and I only use this PC only for gaming and it has some big files in it which is why I can't format my HHD. I've also attached my Sfcdetail.txt and Dism.log in a zip file.
Please help me.

Thank you for your quick response. I just uninstalled Mcafee completely off my computer. And about the link to fix corrupted files you posted is confusing me.. I'm so sorry but could you please explain step by step?

I had the corrupted files problem even back when I was using windows 7. I feel like windows did not replace the corrupted files while upgrading to windows 10.

This can happen if you upgraded your system instead of performing a clean install. What method did you use?

I used the media creation tool off the official site https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10. By clean install do you mean by removing all the apps and files? if it is then nope I chose the option to keep my documents and files.

Yes, that's what I meant. Also, you are using the 10240 build which is outdated. The most recent is 10586. Please download it and perform a clean OS install. See if the errors persist.

won't the clean install remove all my files? Is there any other way than clean install? I do not want to lose my files.

Yes, it would. We can try something else.

Insert your setup media and run this cmd.

Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /Source:X:\sources\sxs /all /LimitAccess

replace x with the drive letter of your setup media.

Then try running:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth.

Let me know how it goes.

I might try to make another disk partition and then put all my important files in it and then try to clean install on C:\ .

does that sound right?

OK, stop dism and try this command: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Let me know how it goes.

As for the clean install, yes, that would be great.

This one also looks stuck to me. I will try allocating free space to another partition to move the files and then do a clean install on the c:\ ..

Anyways man, thank you so much for being here to help me throughout this whole time.

Have a good day and Merry X-mas.
