I used a program called Rasterbation to make a poster out of a photo. They are saved in PDF file and then I just print it out and piece it together. My problem is that when I tried to print it out in an 8x11.5 format I got this error message and I don't understand what it means or why I can't print that size photo? Is it my printer or the program that is causing the problem? Please help......Attached File  Capture.PNG   39.88KB   0 downloads

This is what I got when I googled the error code?

  1. Press the printer’s [ON/RESUME] button to cancel printing, change the media type or paper size setting, and then print again.

NOTE – Please view the different media types and paper sizes below -
  • When the media type is set to Photo Paper Plus Glossy II:
    Set the paper size to 4”x6” 10cm x 15cm (Windows)/4x6 (Mac), or 5”x 7” 13cm x 18cm (Windows)/ 5x7 (Mac).
  • When the media type is set to Glossy Photo paper:
    Set the paper size to 4”x6” 10cm x 15cm (windows)/4x6 (Mac)
  • When the media type is set to Envelope:
Set the paper size to Envelope Com 10 (Windows)/Envelope #10 (Mac) or Envelope DL (Windows/Mac).

If the above solution has not resolved your error, please contact your nearest Canon authorised service facility.

Could it be that the paper size should be 8.5 x 11.0 rather than 8 x 11.5?

My error, but no that's not the problem. I think it's the printer apparently it doesn't print 8x10's. Only 4x6 and 5x7 photo's.

I never heard of such a thing?? :smash:

It's possible. Do you have another program that you can use to test the printer?

The printer works fine. According to the specs it just doesn't print 8x10 photos?

In all my time using computers I have never come across a printer with this kind of limitation? I don't understand the point of it.

I have since resolved my problem and had Walmart print my poster for less then $20.00 and it's all one picture instead of

12 pictures posted together, they did a great job for a great price. Thank you for your help.
