I have had an issue on my computer with a rootkit in the past, and it was a pretty serious infection.  Lately I have six keys on my keyboard that have suddenly stopped working: m, n, j, h, u, and y.  These are all around the middle of the keyboard, (sort of) together, so I thought one of my kids had spilled something on the keyboard, though they promise they haven't.  The keys don't stick, they aren't any harder to press down, they feel fine when I type -- they just don't work.  I've tried to blow air in to clear out dust, and they still don't work.  Is it possible that this problem can be caused by malware?

No, this sounds like a hardware issue. Do you have another keyboard you can use to see if it works properly?

Greetings,

I see you checked the post yesterday but did not reply. Are you still in need of assistance?

OK, the other thing we can do is uninstall and reinstall the keyboard but if possible I would like to see if another keyboard works. If you hit the start button, type osk.exe, and hit enter you will get an on-screen keyboard you should be able to use.

It appears that this issue is resolved, therefore I am closing the topic. If that is not the case and you need or wish to continue with this topic, please send me or any Moderator a Personal Message (PM) that you would like this topic re-opened.
