Hey Guys,
This was driving me nuts for the last two days and I couldn't find an easy solution online so I figured it out myself and thought I would share it in case anyone else is stymied.

Step 1: Go to Control Panel

Step 2: in the search field type "Device Manager"

Step 3: Select "Network Adapters"

Step 4: Right click on your Wireless LAN adapter and select "Properties"

Step 5:  Go to "Driver" tab and click "Uninstall," select "Ok" to any warnings

Step 6: After your adapter disappears from the menu, right click on "Network Adapters" and select "Scan for Hardware Changes."

Step 7: Let Windows reinstall your drivers.

Step 8: Enjoy a fixed Wifi Tray Icon (assuming this technique worked for you)
