Dell Studio 1555-win 7 Pro 64b- intermittant lockups-no cbs log

This laptop has some boot issues about once every week or so and also locks up. I ran the usual virus and malware scans with very few results. I did a chkdsk /r and it found no problem. I then ran sfc /scannow and this is the message I received: "Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some"
It referred me to a cbs log in the Windows directory but I could not locate it. I made sure hidden files were being shown in control panel. I opened the cbs folder after running the scan and the only thing in the folder were 5 files titled CbsPersist followed by a date and more numbers.

I would like to find the files that are corrupt so I can fix but don't know how else to find them.

Any help is appreciated...

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

I would just run the sfc /scannow command again.  Before I did that, I would run the chkdsk /r command.  Do not post any logs from either command...just run the commands.

 

I believe that all those errors citing "manifest" are Office errors.  I would uninstall MS Office and leave it uninstalled...and wait a day to see if the errors continue without Office being part of the equation.

  • I went ahead and uninstalled Office and ran the chkdsk /r.  I then ran the sfc /scannow and it did go to 100% unlike it did before, however I still got the error message I got before.  I am attaching a screenshot of the cbs folder.  What now???

I'm not particularly interested in any kinds of logs...other than those I specifically request.

 

Let's see how the system now performs...I don't care about CBS log, I care about Event Viewer data which indicates a system problem.
