Programs Not Responding

Hi Guys[/size]

I really hope someone can help me as im really at a loss here.[/size]

I have a brand new MSI 24GE 2QE 4K-005EU All in One PC.[/size]

Now the problem i'm having is some programs are freezing and then say "Not Responding" even when i boot up the programs within seconds they simple freeze and then that not responding message comes up, i have refreshed windows 8.1 back to factory settings but i am still having this problem, [/size]

I have checked to see if the programs are compatible with Windows 8.1 and they certainly are so i don't know why it is doing this.[/size]

The specs are:[/size]
CPU: Intel Core i7 4720HQ 2.60 GHz[/size]
Ram: 16GB[/size]
HDD: 2TB[/size]
GFX Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M[/size]
Motherboard: [/size]MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD System Model MS-AE6C11
So the specs are really good so i am really at a loss at what the problem could be i have made sure i have all the up to date drivers as well, [/size]

1 other problem i have with this is that if i watch a video it glitches like mad sometimes as well, it settles down after a while but i still think this shouldn't be happening with a brand new AIO with these specs am i right?[/size]

I hope someone can help me as i think i am at breaking point and really don't fancy sending it back especially with it being Christmas and being very unlikely that i will receive a new one before Christmas as i need it for work as well.[/size]

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  Clicking on this link will automatically initiate the download. 
 
When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.
 
The following screen will appear, click on Yes.

The following screen will appear, click on Copy to Clipboard.

In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.
 
 

Please download MiniToolBox to your desktop.
 
Right-click on MiniToolBox.exe and select Run as Administrator.
 
You will see an image like the one below.

Click on the following checkboxes only:
 
• List last 10 Event Viewer log
• List Installed Programs
• List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
• List Minidump Files
 
Click on Go to start the scan.  Once it is finished highlight the text, then copy it and paste it in your topic.

Thing is DC3 i'll use the Elgato software as an example so when i reboot the pc as soon as it starts and goes to the desktop if i open the elgato software straight away when it goes to the desktop it works but if i wait 3-4 minutes after the desktop is on and then try to load the elgato software i get the "Not Responding" message which means i then have to end task in task manager, hope that makes sense

Just for testing purposes uninstall skype.

It's looking like this problem may be related to a third party software.  To determine if this is the problem we will do a Clean Boot.

 

 
Warning:  Disabling items in Services or Startup may leave your anitivius disabled until the process is ended.  For this reason I would suggest that you perform this process off line.
 
1.  Click on the Start orb rsz_1rsz_1rsz_start_orb_zpshjewtibd.png, then type msconfig.exe in the Search programs and files box.  
 
2.  When msconfig is seen in the pane above the search box and under Programs, right click on it, then click on Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, you should enter the password or provide confirmation. 
 
3.  Click on the General tab.   
 
4.  Click the Selective startup option. 
 
5.  Remove the check mark in the Load startup items  check box.

6.Click on the Services tab. 
 
7.  Place a check mark in the Hide all Microsoft services check box, this will remove the Microsoft Services from the list but will still be running. 
 
8.  Click Disable all, this will remove all of the check marks in the Services list, then click on Apply, then OK.  Click on Restart in the window that opens.
 
When the computer is restarted it will boot normally.

Yes mate the problem is still there i still get the "Not Responding" message, but heres the thing i thought i would take a shot in the dark and again we'll use the elgato software as an example so what i did was i booted in safe mode and replicated the issue exactly the same way that i would in normal mode and in safe mode it works perfectly fine i dont get that "Not Responding" message at all even after leaving it for around 20 minutes in safe mode so its a mystery.

I had already figured this out, this is why I suggested the Clean Boot.  The Clean Boot will remove all of the Windows services leaving only the third party services.  Once you have gone through the instructions and reboot the computer and the problem no longer persists we will know that it is a third party service which is causing this.  If this is the case we can go through a process of elimination to find the service causing this.
