Problem Connecting to Internet After Once Being On

I'm not sure where I should start with this, so I'll start here.

Browser: Firefox 4.3, up to date

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium-up to date; 64-bit;  Dell Studio XPS 7100; AMD Phenom ™ II x4 945 Processor 3.00GHZ; RAM 4.00 GB

 

The Problem: I usually shut my computer system down every night. When I boot up in the morning and open the browser, every website I attempt to open opens fine. The problem starts when I close the browser and later open it I have to try numerous times to open a website, doesn't matter the site.

 

Is the problem caused by the browser or my IP connection or both or something else? I don't believe it could be the website I'm trying to access because it happens with all sites.

 

The problem started around the time Microsoft commandeered my system in order to install (or try to install) Windows 10. Could that be the culprit?

 

I run CCleaner and clear my history but neither makes a difference.

 

Anyway, it's not life-threatening but it is very,very annoying.

 

Any help appreciated! :whistle:

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
 
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

The image you posted of the Speccy is not what should be posted.  If you follow the instruction properly it will produce a hyperlink which will open a new web page with the Speccy content.

 

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  Clicking on this link will automatically initiate the download. 
 
When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.
 
The following screen will appear, click on Yes.

In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.
 
 
The Windows Search Control needs to be repaired.  In order to do this a registry edit will need to be performed.  The instruction for this are fairly straightforward to those who have an some experience editing the registry.  If you are not familiar you need to be aware that if mistakes are made doing the edit it could result in turning your computer into a very expensive door stop.
 
Let's try one things first, it this fails to resolve the problem then we will look at the registry edit.
 
Please do a System Restore.  Use a Restore Point prior to the problem.
 

Click on the Start orb startorb_zpsvudtmgfg.png.
 
In the Search programs and files box type System Restore.
 
Under Programs right click on System Restore, then click on Run as administrator
 
When System Restore opens click on Next
 
You should now see your restore points listed by time and date, click on a restore point prior to the time your problem started, then click on Next.
 
Click on Finish to initiate the restore.

Next time this happens, go to cmd and type:

 

ping 8.8.8.8

 

and see if you get a response.

 

If you do go to your firefox and put:

 

http://74.125.224.72/

 

into your address bar.  It should bring up google.

 

If it does you have a DNS problem.  To fix this go start and type Network and Sharing Center.  Then look for "Connections:" and click the the words next to it (might be:

"Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet")
 
Then click properties, then double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
 
If Use the following DNS server addresses is clicked, change it to Obtain DNS server address automatically.
 
If this does not work, click use the following DNS server addresses and put:
Prefered: 8.8.8.8
Alternate:  8.8.4.4

I solved a major part of this FF/The 'Net by having ccleaner clean out the accumulated cache [not cookies, not history, not passwords, only the cache files] at every morning boot.  After doing that, I very seldom run into the yellow flag/no web site problem now.

Please run System File Checker
 
The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces corrupted and incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.
 
Click on the Start orb rsz_1rsz_1rsz_start_orb_zpshjewtibd.png and then type cmd in the Search programs and files box.
 
In the pane above the search box Programs will appear with cmd below it, right click on cmd and select Run as administrator.
 
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, enter the password, or click Allow.
 
This will open the Elevated Command Prompt, it will look similar to the image below.

Copy and paste sfc /scannow in the command prompt, then press Enter to start the scan.  
 
If the scan finds no integrity  problems the scan will stop.  Type in exit, then press Enter to stop the scan.
 
When the scan is finished and if intergrity issues are found, please do the following.
 
Click on the Start orb rsz_1rsz_1rsz_start_orb_zpshjewtibd.png then copy and paste the following in the Search programs and files box.
 
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
 
This will place a new icon on the desktop titled sfcdetails.  Double click on this icon to  
the CBS log, copy and paste the log in your topic.
 
If this fails to place the icon on your desktop run the command from the Command Prompt.  Use the instructions I provided at the start of this tutorial.
 
This log may be very large, if you have problems posting it try breaking it into smaller parts.  When you copy these parts you will highlight the section you are going to copy.  If you leave that section highlighted it will give you a quick reference for where you left off.  Do not use a host website to post this.  I will not download anything to my computer unless I know exactly what it contains.
