GIMP would be the best free program to use for the "photoshopping", photoshop would be the paid equivalent. basically you need to find some images of flames on a reasonably plain background. You need to cut around their edges, then you need to composite them onto the background image (image of the room) and give them a bit of an alpha channel so they are somehwta transparent atleast round the edges. Then you need to get a picture of yourself, cut around the edges (make it easier for yourself and have the image taken infront of a green or blue screen) and composite in onto the background, on top of the flames image, using layers in a similar way to how the flames image was composited, but don't have an alpha channel this time. To make it work well try to have the lighting the same for each photograph being taken so that they will match up in the final image.
