Preventing Windows 10 from Installing Drivers - At Least to the Extent Possible

1.  Open Settings.

 

2.  Search for "device installation" and you'll see "Change device installation settings" show up alone in your results; Click it.

 

3.  Click the "No" radio button followed by the "Save settings" button at the bottom of the dialog.

4.  Pray this blocks Microsoft Windows Updates as well as manufacturer updates.

 

 

I have never in my life seen more driver related issues with Windows than I have with Windows 10.   I don't know who to blame, as there's plenty to go around - Microsoft for installing drivers that don't need to be installed and manufacturers, who had plenty of time to update for the debut of Windows 10 not doing so.

Note that in the latest 'update"...threshold.......this option has now become  "Do you want to automatically download manufacturers apps and custom icons that are available for your devices"

 

                                                  Yes (recommended)

                     

                                                     No ( your device might not work as expected)

fed up with Windows antics...??....LINUX IS THE ANSWER....I USE LINUX MINT 18.3  EXCLUSIVELY.

 

Microsoft gives you Windows, Linux gives you the whole house...
