Hello social_dragonfly

Download and install
Belarc Advisor. Be careful with the log it will create for you computer's profile. Belarc logs will show IPs, various product keys and serial numbers that should be kept private so don't post it.

You've been give the proper instuctions of how to accomplish your recovery
of a legitimate Key. If you're not able to do that, then you have other problems to address.

BC will not provide help or support otherwise. Please don't ask us to do so.

Location of product key for Norton Antivirus / Norton Internet Security 2006
Unsure of previous versions
  • Click on START and then run
  • Type regedit and press open
  • Click on the + infront of the folder in regedit called KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  • Now scroll down if the list comes to big and locate the folder called Symantec click on the + sign infront of it.
  • Now locate the folder called CCPD-LC and click on the + sign infront of it
  • Now you should see a folder called Kstore click on the + sign infront of it.
  • Now you will get 1 more folder click on the + sign infront of it, and then it will come 1 more folder click on the + sign infront of it. for me these two are named 00000082 and 0000001f these may variate from computer to computer.
  • Here comes the last folder, click on the folder, and on the right side you should see a entry named key and there you have your product key
