My PSU only has 6 pins with a 2 pin attach to it.  Will it still work fine?

I'll just ask one more question instead of making a new topic.  How long do PSU normally last if they aren't used at its full ability?  I have a corsair 750 v2.  Its about 3 years 9 months old.  Is it time for a new one?  I just upgraded my rig and don't want anything damaged inside of it.
