I'm having a problem with my computer..

After playing a game (sometimes when I'm not)  windows explorer will freeze, all I see is the blue spinning circle, and when I click on the desktop or start menu I get the message "Windows Explorer has stopped responding" so I click end, and IMMEDIETLY the same thing happens, and it happens over and over again, even restarting my computer doesn't fix it.

When I start the computer in Safe Mode, everything is fine. So I used the application "Display Driver Uninstaller" and uninstalled my Nvidia drivers. restart the computer, and BOOM, working perfectly fine after reinstalling drivers.

I normally use the DSR option in the Nvidia Control Panel and I choose a very high resolution for my desktop, which worked fine for months, but recently I reinstalled Windows, and now when I use a high resolution I get the problem with windows explorer freezing.

I have tried older versions of the nvidia drivers and I still get the same problem.

Running right now, my PC at a resolution of 1680 X 1050, everything is working fine, but I really want to run my desktop at a high resolution. I know I can do it, I have a GTX 970, and a Intel 2600K CPU.

Any ideas people?

Thank you!

In addition to the excellent suggestions from other members, you may want to try this free program:  http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

Disable (DO NOT DELETE) ALL non-Microsoft extensions, then reboot to see if the problem is fixed.

If it is, then re-enable the extensions by ½'s until you find the one that's causing it.

Then uninstall the program that contains the problem extension.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
