Hey guys, I'm looking to have a gaming PC built for me and just wanted to get some feedback on the performance, compatibility and value of this build.
I don't know much at all about computers, but a friend of mine recommended someone who came to me with this build as a solid one. The total price is approximately $1,400 AUD. Any advice and help is really appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Hi and welcome to BC!

The PC is very nice, a good CPU, GPU and SSD. You will be able to play latest games without any lag.

If you want to buy i5-6500 that cannot be overclocked, don't buy a Z170 mobo, H170 is enough, liquid cooler is not required. If you want to overclock your system, you should buy i5-6600K, it is more expensive. No need to buy i7.

You have only one 250GB SSD. If you plan to install everything on that SSD, you will use up the SSD very soon. It is not recommended to fill more than 75% space on a SSD. If you have old SSD or HDD from old computer, you can use it. Otherwise buy a 1TB HDD or another SSD for media files and backup.

CPU: Intel i7-8700K 5.3 GHz ------ RAM: 32GB TridentZ 3600 MHz CL16 ----- Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus X Formula ----- GPU: Zotac GTX 1080 Ti Amp! Extreme ----- Storage: Samsung 960 Pro 1TB -- Samsung 850 Pro 2TB x4

I agree with batman, system sounds really nice, except the HDD.  I'm surprised the 250GB was used.  If you are strictly online gaming it will be sufficient (at best) but games that require downloads, programs, local saved data, etc will fill that space in no time.  I have 2 1TB HDDs in my system and they are both at about 60% capacity.  Good luck and have fun gaming!
