I recently restored an older HP computer using my Win. 7 disk, (not a factory restore),
Just realized I had some old photos on it. Is there any way I can get them back? T.I.A.

Hey there

Have you done an upgrade from a previous version of windows?

If so you will find a folder on your C:\ drive called 'Windows.old' if you upgraded, all of your files will be there :)

You could try any of several methods/programs for data recovery.  Suggestions members have reported success with, over the years:

Data Recovery , GParted, AA - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic474881.html

Data Recovery Using Puppy Linux, Brooks - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/489067/dual-boot-system-bluescreens-1-of-my-startup-choices/

Recovery Software, Partition Table Doctor - http://www.ptdd.com/

Thanks, I do have a folder "Windows old", maybe I'm in luck, now to find them. These are my daughters pics and she said there were like 3 years so there will be a lot, I assume they will be scattered all over the folder? Will there be any indication as to pic files?
