Went thru upgrade procedure for 7 Pro to Windows 10.  Downloaded Windows 10, went thru Media setup and then to "Checking for updates".  It has been sitting there with the little dots going round and round for the last two hours, with nothing happening.  Tried the whole sequence 3 time but it still hangs up at this point.  Anything I can do?

Howdy back at you.  No, it has not installed, just trying to get updates as it installs (I think).

Microsoft servers appear to be struggling lately.

If you have any concerns re privacy with Win 10, the following site has some very good options. you can block as much or as little as you like.

The program is free, and contains no adware etc.

We see this at work when updating to W10, and the system insists on downloading the TH2/1511 (build 10586) update.

And 1511 is a HUGE download (3 gB as I recall)

Type "winver" (without the quotes) at a Command Prompt to see what version you have.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
