I am using a macbook pro, and I have trouble changing the IP address. I know how, but when I do my internet doesn't work. It says I am connected to the internet but when I actually try to load a web page it doesn't work. No error message. The purpose of changing my ip is so that i can play video games with my friend using the same network. The funny thing is, when I go to my friends house 5 of us can play on his wifi at a time. However, when we go to my house it doesn't work. My internet is also 100mbps while his is 6mbps. Odd. Help anyone? One more thing: When me and my friend play at my house we can play on different servers but not the same ones. We are trying to play TF2 at my house but when we go to my friends house we play Starcraft. Thanks.

both networks should be set to use dhcp and if so you wouldn't have this issue.

Do you have a router or are you connecting your computer directly to the Internet.
