I had installed comodo firewall 4 months ago. It has been working fine since then. I use it only for the firewall and don't use it's other features such as sandbox, HIPS, cloud scan etc since Eset, and sandboxie already covers those.
so i rather suggest you to remove it (Comodo HIPS even disabled is still active in the background and can create incompatibilities with ESET's HIPS; both adding hooks to the kernel) and rather use a software like Binisoft Windows Firewall Control (it is paid for a lifetime license, then it allows you to get the same popups alerts than comodo.)
Comodo main power is its HIPS and Sandbox.
I have seen an option for update there, though I had set it to check for manual updates, I am not sure exactly what the update does. I mean as I use the firewall part only for monitoring inbound and outbound connections, do I need to update it regularly or upgrade to a newer version as I do for other security softwares? I am actually asking this because I never saw any windows firewall update. Thank you.
Any security sofwares must be updated if possible, to fix bugs or flaws discovered by the developers.
