I swear there is somebody here reading posts and reporting back to Microsoft.

The last few days I have been checking out what apps can be removed by normal uninstall methods.

The only way I was able to do that was from the start menu-settings and there was a link to list apps on the machine.  I found I had twice as many apps on here by default than I had actual programs.

Now since talking about that and talking about removing the PDF viewer app. I can no longer even open start menu. I click on the window nothing happens. Click on the windows key nothing happens. Typeing into search does nothing anymore. Another kick in the groin for dareing to mess with Cortana and it's web search features??????

So what is up with that. It worked fine this morning.  Event viewer shows about 60 errors in applications.

All relating to one thing or another not being able to start.

Now I know you guys think that paranoid old man is talking crazy again. But guess what 28 min.38.654 seconds after making that post my start menu started working again. At 28 min.35 sec. it was not working.

Yall be the judge.

These are public forums, so Microsoft may well be monitoring them.
I found my way here (many years ago) from a listing on Microsoft.com

Also, in addition to users reporting errors on their system(s), there are quite a few Microsoft MVP's working here.

We have additional avenues to contact Microsoft with.

Finally, it may just be that Microsoft discovered this problem (and fixed it) around the same time you started to experience it.

That does happen fairly often when they find and fix problems - as it usually covers quite a wide selection of users/consumers.

The more people have problems and report them, the more likely it is to receive extra attention from the teams at Microsoft.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

You are quite correct USASMA.  Several members here and at other places reported the same problem last month just after the last update.

However my logs show no updates around my time frame.  There were a boat load of errors logged during my time frame and just before.

It indeed could have been coincidental timing.
