acer aspire x1430 will not see new hard drive

hi

 

i just put a [known good] used hd into my acer but i cant find it in the bios, nor can i see where the drives should be listed, nor can i see how to make bios take another look at the hardware to update its self

 

manual is  no help and ive looked everywherte in the bios

Have you pulled the CMOS battery? Be sure to unplug the unit first.

Recheck your connections, the data and power cables.

 

Click on the Start orb rsz_1rsz_1rsz_start_orb_zpshjewtibd.png and then type diskmgmt.msc in the Search programs and files box.  Then press Enter.

 

See if the drive shows up in the Disk Management.

theres no OS  so no start orb

 

battery ok

anyone how to get back the ff profile i hide on another pc

Perhaps a silly question, but can you hear/feel the HDD spinning?  Perhaps it's not getting power from the power supply or it's just failed.

yes i can . the old drive had stopped spinning so i replaced it fully expecting that to be the ONLY problem....but no

 

if i kew where to look in the bios it would help. ive got the pdf manual for bios and still cant find it
