I have no sound coming out of my two speakers. I up-dated the driver and the answer I received was that they were OK. I purchased new speakers but I got the same result. I am opened to suggestions to help me solve this problem. I thank you in advance and take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2016.

Look in the Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers to see if there is a yellow warning icon or a red error icon.

Have you looked at the volume control in the task bar to be sure it is turned up?

Before I download this item I would like to know if there is a hidden fee for this, and how much. Also does it mean my computer (files, etc) will be available (opened) to everyone?

jburd1800 is correct.  This programs is free to download and use.  It provides us with information ranging from temperatures to hardware installed in this computer.  There is no personal information extracted.

There is a forum called Tests and Scribbles where you can open a topic and post things you want to see.  You can post your Speccy snapshot there, click on the link it creates and see what it contains.  After you are through you can click on edit and remove the link to the Speccy.  You will need to post something in its place if the link is removed.  Just type in test, then click on Save Changes.

After I tried multiple times to follow your instructions, and since nothing worked, I decided to download Speccy to my computer. So what can I do next. I am 84 in 6 days so your instructions MUST be very detailed and simple. Thanks and sorry for the added trouble.

I've added to my instructions to clarify how to download and install the Speccy Snapshot and run it.  If you have any questions, just ask.

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  Clicking on this link will automatically initiate the download.

This is a Zip file, so you will need a program like 7-zip to extract the program.

When you have downloaded the Speccy Snapshot you will need to extract the program.  In order to do this click on Extract all as seen in the image below.

speccy_zpst7spbukh.png

After extracting the program you will be prompted to Select a Destination and Extract Files.  You can change the location suggested or choose another location.  After you have decided on the location click on Extract.

In the page that opens you will see two Applications.  The first is for a 32-bit operating system, the second is for a 64-bit operating system.  Click on the version which applies to your operating system.  This will open the Speccy Snapshot.

When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

speccy9_zps2d9cdedc.png

Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.

The following screen will appear, click on Yes.

speccy7_zpsfa02105f.png

The following screen will appear, click on Copy to Clipboard.

In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.
